Paragliding

Paragliding is all about taking off from a hill, or a cliff and enjoying the moment up in the sky. It is a journey of you and the pilot who launches and then controls the parachute in the air. You’ll be soaring your way into nature, with the mountains on display and the beautiful landscapes right beneath you.

Sarangkot hill in Pokhara is a famous attraction for paragliding in Nepal. Beside it, you can enjoy this adventurous activity from other hills including Nagarkot with a paragliding pilot and permission.

Bungee Jumping

When you do bungee jumping, you will be jumping from a suspension bridge or the bungee with an elastic or a rubber cord attached to your feet and body. After the jump, once you reach its maximum length, the cord will bring you back and you will experience a shooting back frequency.

You can hop on to this adventurous activity in Bhotekoshi Gorge, Hemja, Pokhara, Kushma Bridge. You could either experience this activity alone or jump together with a friend or partner as well in Bhotekoshi Gorge.

Ziplining

Ziplining is an adventure activity where you ride a steel cable connected pulley from one point to another in a certain fall. On your way, you’ll be witnessing the beautiful land and serene nature underneath you.

The Zipline in Pokhara is the steepest zipline of the world with a declination of 54 degree for a length of more than 900 meters. You can also enjoy ziplining in Dhulikhel, Bhaktapur and Kushma. Along with it, Sky Cycling is also available in Bhaktapur.

Ultralight Flight

Ultralight flight is only available in Pokhara from the Airport. It is adventurous nevertheless because you will encounter the ethereal beauty of Pokhara on a flight. You will be seeing the snow-capped mountains, Phewa Lake, and the entirety of Pokhara valley without making a jump. Ultralight flight can take only one person at a time in the sky of Pokhara. So you and your friend cannot fly on the same flight but you can share the experience after landing.

Hot Air Ballooning

Hot Air Ballooning, a thrilling activity introduced to Pokhara on November 17, 2018, has swiftly become a popular adventure sport among tourists. Amidst the numerous incredible activities Pokhara offers, this newest addition has captured the fascination of visitors in a short span of time.

In The Rivers

Rafting

Rafting on the high currents of the Seti River and the Trishuli River will make you float on adrenaline quite literally. On top of that, these boats are designed for a group rafting experience so the more the merrier. And then there is Kali Gandaki where you can raft on a low current, seeing the narrow Kali Gandaki gorge, the beautiful waterfall, and the dense jungle in its surroundings which is also very adventurous. To see this mesmerizing beauty from the top of the river will most definitely entrail you.

Kayaking

Kayaking is done in a narrow boat called a kayak, where the paddler sits facing forward with legs facing forward and uses a double-bladed paddle to move forward. The most popular places to go kayaking in Nepal would be Pokhara, Sunkoshi River, and Trishuli river. Usually, it is driven by one person, but if two people want to ride together, then they can opt for a tandem kayak as well.

Canoeing

Canoeing is an exciting activity where one rides a lightweight and narrow boat called a canoe and uses a single-bladed paddle to row ahead on the water body. The most famous destination in Chitwan in the Terai region, you’d be heading with a few more people in the canoe and passing along the Rapti River to see the famous Gharial crocodile and Marsha Mugger crocodiles on its banks. It will be both nerve-wracking and exciting at the same time.

Heli Tour

You’ve taken a flight at this point, now you do it all through a helicopter. A Heli tour means the scenery of Mt. Everest, glaciers, hills and valleys will be in an aerial view for you. This tour happens in the Everest Region and is a thrilling experience that you can experience in a group of five to six or smaller.

Mountain Flight

On a mountain flight, you’ll be heading to the Everest region from Kathmandu towards the unforgettable mountainside. You can hop on to a flight from Kathmandu and Pokhara. Depending on the airline you take, the flight can take 14-18 people at a time. Seeing Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu, and Mt. Kanchenjunga and their white snow from the flight will feel like seeing the mountains from the top of the clouds.

Others In Nature

Rock Climbing

Not to be confused with wall climbing, rock climbing is climbing on a rock formation, mostly natural. With the help of climbing gear and techniques, you can climb across, or simply up and down the rock faces.

Namche Bazaar, Hattiban, Nagarjun are some of the places which offer a natural rock climbing area. So if you are a nature-adventure person, a rock climbing session here will help you a lot.

Honeycomb Hunting

Honeycomb hunting is an adventurous and exciting activity but it requires a lot of caution. You’d need a guide or a course to try this yourself, or just looking at the honey hunters is also exciting, since the speed and focus required to hunt for honey is quite high.

To begin with, leaves and branches are burned to calm down the bees. Then the honey hunter climbs the tree with a bee comb from a ladder or a rope. Then, with a long bamboo stick, the bee comb is pierced and the honey chunks are cut and is transported to the bucket right by the same bamboo stick beneath the honeycomb put by the hunter.

This is done without making a noise or else there would be a bee attack. This is a traditional activity here in Nepal that today is best practiced in Bhujung, Nai Chi, Pasgaon, Naya Gaun, Ludhi, and Dare as an adventurous activity.

Mountain Biking

Mountain biking comes with the option of a bike that is essentially a motorbike. And an entrancing destination for mountain biking has to be Mustang and Manang. It feels like a scene in a movie, quite literally. The landscape of your journey with beautiful mountains as the backdrop from the main streets of Manang and Mustang, into the ancient forbidden kingdom in Upper Mustang, and the spread of the spectacular scene as far as the eyes can get will be an unforgettable memory. And, mountain biking allows more of an intimate connection than on another vehicle.

Canyoning

Canyoning is navigation down a fast-flowing water stream. You’ll be placed safely in a water-proof harness and using safe climbing techniques. In Nepal, you can experience canyoning in Sundarijal and Chitwan. It is adventurous at its best and recreational at its least. It is usually a one-way trip and not climbing back the way you came down from.
