Information
Best season

The best season for this journey is from March to May and from September to November. During these months, the weather in Nepal is generally stable, with clear skies and excellent visibility of the Himalayas. Spring offers blooming rhododendrons and mild temperatures, while autumn brings crisp air and spectacular mountain views after the monsoon rains. These periods are ideal for trekking in the Himalayas, exploring Lower Mustang, and enjoying wildlife safaris in Chitwan.

That said, this trip can be organized throughout the entire year. Each season has its own charm: winter offers peaceful trails and fewer visitors, while the monsoon season brings lush green landscapes and a more intimate travel experience.

Travel insurance

Travel insurance is compulsory for this tour. All participants must provide a copy of their comprehensive travel insurance policy certificate before arrival. The policy must cover medical treatment and emergency repatriation, including helicopter rescue and high-altitude evacuation expenses (covering trekking activities up to 4,000m). It must also include coverage for safari activities.

Participants are kindly requested to send their detailed insurance information after booking the tour. In case of emergency, we will use the insurance policy and documents you have provided to arrange a fast and effective rescue operation, emergency medical assistance, or necessary transfers. Please ensure that your insurance covers all costs related to mountain rescue services.

Before purchasing travel insurance, we strongly recommend contacting the insurance company directly to reconfirm that helicopter evacuation at high altitude and all activities included in this itinerary are fully covered.

Acclimatization

Proper acclimatization is an important part of this journey, as some sections of the itinerary reach elevations above 3,500 meters. The program has been carefully designed with gradual altitude gain and specific days that allow your body to adapt naturally. Staying well hydrated, eating properly, and maintaining a steady pace during walks will help minimize the risk of altitude sickness. Our team will monitor the group throughout the higher-altitude stages and provide guidance if needed. Listening to your body and communicating any symptoms early is essential to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Drinking water

In the mountain regions, we recommend bringing a reusable container with one liter capacity. In the tea houses, you can purchase boiled drinking water to refill your bottle. Another option is to refill from natural fountains along the trail or directly from the tea house taps. The water in these areas is generally good; however, you may choose to use water purification tablets (available in pharmacies) if you prefer extra precaution — these are optional.

In the cities, bottled water is widely available and can be easily purchased at shops, hotels, and restaurants.

Itinerary Flexibility

The itinerary may be subject to minor modifications due to weather conditions, road or trail conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances such as local regulations or safety considerations.

Our priority is always the safety and well-being of our travelers. In case of necessary changes, we will adapt the program while ensuring the best possible experience and maintaining the essence of the journey.

Responsible Travel & Community Support

We are a travel agency committed to sustainable tourism and responsible travel practices. Through our NGO, Himalayan Remote Futures, we actively support social projects in the communities we visit.

If you wish, you are welcome to bring clothing, school supplies, toys, or other useful items to donate to villages along the route and contribute directly to local well-being. We will also be happy to share more information about our ongoing community projects and how you can support them.

Much more than a trip!
And this has been made possible by the Firantes team. For the knowledge and love they have for the country, for its quality and human warmth, for their technical knowledge and professionalism. They have provided us with everything, including the cultural keys to understanding what would otherwise have gone unnoticed and sowing the seeds to remain linked to the country.
They have given us great love for their people, for the mountains and for the country, guiding and accompanying without being noticed, adapting to the circumstances and giving the best at all times, both to us and to all the people with whom they collaborate with them.

Thank you infinitely FIRANTES!
We’ll meet again.

It was my first contact with Nepal, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. I toured Kathmandu and Pokhara, in the best company and with the best organization.
Paula, Kumar and Moon (her little dog), made everything go wonderful and that I did not have to worry more than to enjoy these two enclaves.
Paula is Spanish and Kumar, Nepali, which makes everything much easier for Europeans.
He threatened to come back soon, I’ve had a lot to see.
Thank you from the heart
